Unfortunately, the SkyBridge_(TransLink) wasn't designed to be wide enough for 2 bus lanes, 2 bike lanes and 2 footpaths. Its just a double track LRT crossing.

Since the Skytrain isn't a 24 hour system, a regional BRT or at least an express bus network should have been seriously considered. Most bridges in greater Vancouver are too narrow for proper express bus lanes, let alone BRT. Thus, there should be a series of bus-bridges built, but that would go against the congestive transportation agenda of Greater Vancouver.
A very narrow Skybridge and a 4 lane Pattullo+Bridge+replacement that's still a chokepoint. This new bridge should have opened with at least 3 lanes each way, plus 2 bus lanes and 2 emergency lanes, or 2 wide shoulders. Instead, the new bridge is only 2 lanes each way.
