Could there ever be a big city in Tasmania on the scale of Melbourne, Singapore, or Cape_Town? Hobart is nowhere near the scale of Auckland. First, Hobart would have to get to a similar scale to that of Christchurch or Wellington. However, most residents might never want Hobart to rival Adelaide and especially Perth. Perhaps Hobart might rival Newcastle, some day.
